The metro tonight

To be fair the tram is not fit for purpose. It's about time a rail station was build too. For a stadium that holds 55'000, one tram station/stop is just not good enough .
I think it's at the San Siro, they have six platforms for trains near the ground. Inter only average 44000 and Milan only average 33000.

the whole transport system around the etihad is a joke....roads jammed...fighting to get on buses...no train staition...metro rammed because of not enough carriages and platforms. piss poor all round.

Those who are talking about e mailing or writing to the management, don't waste your time. I did this once last season and got a standard non committal response. Better option is to slagg the system off on their Facebook page. Just make sure that its the Manchester Metro Facebook page.

Need the Supporters Group to get on to City about it. Not like we are not paying a shitton of money to the Council for the facilities and regeneration! Individual emails and complaints are easy to ignore, while ORGANIZED ENTITIES, which may raise the health and safety flag with the Council and the Club, thus highlighting their subsequent liability, cannot be ignored!

Oh, and a call to the MUEN, with pics, might help!

The whole transport network in this city is a joke.

Met's that run on roads meanings slow service (Manchester Airport line has had cars stopping over tracks in rush hour causing delays), Manchester Airport to Town takes forever, the same distance on the London Underground would be far less time.
Mets only really run towards and away from Town apart from small exceptions, no cross sectioning.
No Met line to Middleton Swinton Stockport Flixton Leigh or Hyde.
Bus routes down many roads with cars parked on the streets on both sides causing lack of flow and traffic jams.
Some bus routes have been cancelled recently with no alternative.
Not enough public transport meaning too many people still over-rely on cars to get about so roads are jam packed.
Not enough bus only routes.
Lack of any cycle only routes.

Conurbation of 2.7m that doesn't have an underground network therefore all of our transport is on the same roads apart from the original Alty Met line and outdated diesel trains.

We have some of the worst congestion in the whole of Europe on our Manchester roads. The roads cannot cope with the volume of transport.

There's no Oyster Card equivalent for the city neither.

I was wondering if the rags have similar problems at the stops near the ground and looked up the Metrolink website and saw this:

Location Description

Just a 10 minute walk away from famous Manchester United.

The similar entry for the Etihad is

The Etihad stadium is directly adjacent to the Etihad Campus stop.

Something makes me think that United do not get the same problems, don't know why.

Fighting to get on buses? I have a bus pass. Never seen fighting to get on the bus. If the queue is small I'll queue up, but frequently I just walk on because its quicker to walk.

If you ever needed evidence....
