The Midland Marple Bridge

Anyone know this place? What's it like on a Saturday night? Food, drink, dress code etc?

We go there every Wednesday night, and it's a fun place, but it's full of loose women. My own problem with that is venereal disease, which is disabilitating right, especially for a soldier. And it's irresponsible to the rest of your unit as well, right. You've been under attack for days, there's a soldier down, he's wounded, gangrene's setting in, 'who's used all the penicillin?' 'Oh, Mark Paxon sir, he's got knobrot off some tart'

Wasn't it once owned by former City director Ian Niven? The Devonshire Arms up the road in Mellor does some nice grub.

Royal scot is just around the corner ( or used to be ) and yes Niven did

Both the Norfolk and the midland are good nowadays, the Norfolk used to be a bit of a dump and full of idiots but it's nice inside an relaxed, with live music often as well.

Marple bridge is a much better place to drink thank marple itself or new mills (which is the worse of the three).

to be fair mate Marple was a good cruel years ago from rosehill up, Railway , Bowling green , Jolley Sailor , hatters , pineapple, bull , Liberal club , navigation
down the tow path.... con club, ring 'o' bells up to the crown...........then roll down the hill and on to the otters.

I live in Romiley where the pubs are bad to average .. Wish we had a boozer like the Norfolk in Romiley, selection of beers is superb ,loads of foreign , local craft , always changing their cask ales .Least Marple Bridge is only one stop on the train.
