the difference is this is as good as everton will be for the forseable future, whereas we have so much room for improvement! and the resources to implement any needed changes to our squad, enjoy your moment, it aint gonna get any better.

Let me pose this question to you. Tim Howard obviously had an injury and had a defender kicking the ball out for him each time. From what I counted this took just as long, if not longer, than a Rory Delap throw-in. Is this simple display of time wasting not a form of legal cheating each time it went out for a goal kick?

And outpassing us wasn't hard to do given that we were crap in that department all night against you. We weren't outplayed. When we were 1 - 0 down we really went for the equaliser and there's always a risk of conceeding at the other end. If you cannot realise how defensive you went after you went 1 - 0 up then I don't rate your appreciation of tactics that highly.

As for a cup final, good luck in your next one. I'd advise you don't hold your breath before you reach your next.

got on our teams back? all i heard was us urging them on and singing. and walking out after 10 mins of normal time left? people started walking out after the second goal went in actually with 4 mins left, which every other team would of. your "olays" came after 3 mins of added time you thick fuck. deserved second goal? we were dominating and il admit couldnt find a way through but that goal was a counter attack from nowhere. city will always be shit? hang on we're 5th and your what 8th? so FUCK OFF.

Kinda pointless arguing about the stats

fact: Everton are a dam good team that play to thier strenghts. If it wasnt foe thier shocking start to the season they would be up with us at least, and to be honest with the form they are in, any more slip ups from us, villa and spurs and i wouldnt discount Everton.
Its just a shame they couldnt raise their game V Liverpool and take the points there and also at Spurs, though usually Spurs luck, i think Everton were missing quite a few there inc Saha and Cahill.

Fact: We are still a work in progress. Any of us would have taken top 6 at the start of the season but the way the season has panned out 4th is there for the taking so expectations are higher.

Next season, Everton will still be where they are today, a very very good team where we will more than likely improve our 1st team in the weak areas. With Villa, Everton, Spurs, City seeming to improve year in year out it makes for a real battle for the 4th Spot and who knows perhaps 3rd and 4th next year will be for grabs if we all continue to improve.

So have fun with your 6 points off us, as we had the same fun with the 6 points of Chelsea.

This season is far from over yet, and is all to play for

We have 1 thing in common though, neither of us wants Liverpool to get 4th. Finish outside top 4 and see them implode

Was obviously pissed off with the result last night, can't blame it fully on the referee and linesman even though both were absolutely awful and made a big impact on the game,

at the end of the day it was just 'one of them nights' nothing went right for us from start to finish, it was quite clear that Evertons goal was a sucker punch, they didn't deserve a goal and we were miles on top of the game, the second goal was predictable obviously on the counter,

i think we played well, there were a few bad performances but i think we did alright, everton read our game and knew what to do, ireland saw alot of the ball in the game and played well after the first 5 minutes when he eventually settled in, once he went off we kind of played the same game and everton knew what to do,

Few everton fans i heard outside the ground walking were saying we played well but the quality just wasn't there on the night, the midfield was the difference between the teams,

Not a disaster but very disappointing, unfortunetely were crying out for that creative midfielder what we don't have at the moment and it is really killing us, if top 4 comes then we must sign a big player to do that role.

Wigan next, we will win, spuds will probably beat pompey, which means after the weekends football and us monday night, we'll be 2 points behind again, it's not over yet.

one bad night, it had to come sometime, it's been and gone, let's get on with it.

Better is such a subject word isn't it. On the amount of play, adventure, attacking intention, we had the lion's share of what was on offer. You came to hang on to what you had before you passed the M6 junction with the East Lancs. A fortuitous undeserved first goal made your task a lot easier. But I suspect that was part of Moyes' plan - a fictitious free kick from a fictitious foul, a cleverly worked pass, NigglyRoo's head and a lot of our good work wasted! With the players you have and the manager you have, not to mention the fans, I can't understand why you are not unbeaten since March 2002!

i think everton played the perfect away performance last night. for all our possession and pressure, we created very little and can only remember howard making one save which simply isnt good enough.

they came, they fustrated us and for me they deserved the 3 points on the night. we struggled to cope with saha and arteta dictated the game, de jong couldnt get to grips with him and although i love his commitment, he runs around at times like a headless chicken and is not the 'classic' holding midfielder that some make out him to be on here, very good player, but not great.

first half- city domination until that scouse **** of a ref gives a dodgy freekick which finds its way in.

second half- city domination looking the equaliser, you scored your second because we through everything at you.

we were a much better team in passing and other aspects.

Everton were the more composed outfit in the early period of the second half. A great passing move on 49 minutes culminated with Osman curling a well-struck effort agonisingly wide of the post.
And another spell of scintilating passing minutes later ended in similar fashion - this time Cahill floating a cheeky effort wide.
