That was hard viewing the first time I watched it. The black and white grimness of the whole film didn’t help.Eraserhead depressed and horrified me first time watching when I was about 13. I've seen it since and it still has the same effect. Good though.
Not so much depressing, more “when is anything going to happen?”Manchester by the sea
Now that was bleak, especially when the woman had bloke after bloke after bloke lined up to…….Last Exit to Brooklyn
Wasn’t it a documentary rather than a film?'Cathy Come Home' is as desperate and depressing a film as I've ever seen.
at last... some cultural recognition ;)Now that was bleak, especially when the woman had bloke after bloke after bloke lined up to…….
Incidentally, in the book, one chapter is called The Queen Is Dead which was the inspiration for a particular Manchester 80’s 4 piece beat combo naming their 3rd album.
Neither. It was actually a television play. So I was definitely wrong in posting it.Wasn’t it a documentary rather than a film?
I thought it was a great film. Not so much depressing, more “when is anything going to happen?”
Watched it as I’d been there but had no idea about the plot.
