I also recall one from Thats Life ( I think ) where the post office got an envelope with something like Arry Aris Arijaba on the front ( the 70's was the era of shocking adult literacy in the UK ) and still delivered it.

The intended recipient was a Harry Harris who lived at Harwich Harbour.
