But there is no proof JC and his uncle Joe ever visited Glastonbury so it's a pointless having it as our anthem.

And he complains that anthem is "shoved down his throat." Unless you are at a sporting event, an Independence Day celebration or listening to some country-western music radio stations at noon you'll rarely hear it.

Maybe the OP just doesn't like national anthems?

It actually doesn't have anything to say about England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland. Instsead, our national anthem variously discusses saving, protecting and defending the monarch, and pouring gifts on her. A royal family that is 303 years old (216 if just classing the UK). also it was a music hall ditty mainly to poke at our subjication of the other UK countries(mainly scotts and jacobites) about a German Royal Family.

Means about as much about this country as waltzing matilda

I'd like to see you boo the USA anthem at a sporting event in America.

They'd have you hung.


But hey...do it from afar for a country you abandoned. It will matter not one jot.

Hanging would be difficult.. Security probably wouldn't let anyone bring a length of rope in the stadium/arena. Though I realistically could see more than one man or woman offering to take him to fist city.
