Agreed. Some of our younger fans don't comphrend how good those guys were. Not many of this team would have survived back in the day when playing on frozen pitches, quagmires, and when two footed tackles were common place. Those three players from yesteryear would have thrived in todays modern game in a non contact enviroment, with perfect pitches to play on. Franny possibly would have been book now and then for "simulation"!
The were doing a thing on the radio this morning about "which one player from the past would you want in your current side". The obvious answer seemed to be Colin Bell, but thinking about it I reckon Summerbee would fit into the current team like a dream. He'd give us that width that we miss, could also lead the line and was a very underrated midfield player. Mancini would love him and he'd be great in modern football.
