You cannot compare Silva with Messi. Simple, no Barcelona no Messi.

I think you meant no Messi, no Barcelona ;) A Barcelona without Messi would distinctly drop a level or two below what they are currently...despite having other world-class players... and would give us better odds if there ever was a City Vs Barcelona match :)

Barcelona would still win without Messi. Spain won the world cup with Xavi and co. Messi was average with Argentina.
Baca do still win without Messi (injured or suspended). But when Iniesta doesn't play they aren't the same team, Xavi and Messi, and Spain, are less effective without Iniesta. In most big games Iniesta is man of the match for Barca and Spain (two Champions Lg finals, one El Classico last season and the most recent one too) and if he isn't motm he scores the winning goal (Chelsea semi-final in injury time, world cup final).

Messi is the best individual footballer in the world. Iniesta is the best team player in the world. Silva isn't as good as Iniesta.

cant compare with messi unfortunately, he's just a level or two above everyone else. even twinkle-toes is a bit behind messi when you consider the physical body difference between him and messi. ones just over 6ft and the other just nudging 5ft7".

David's reluctance to shoot and his comparatively poor standard of finishing when he does have a crack is the one thing that stops him being in the world's top five or six. If he can add that to his game he will be truly one of the greats.
But he is a different kind of player to Messi for a start, and he will never be as dangerous in front of goal s him.
