Without going all monty python/4 Yorkshire men. I never had sweets as a kid or pop. We were to skint. When I was about 8 I used to walk home from school with a lad who would call at his dad's business and get money off his grandma. We'd then go to the sweet shop and he would buy a selection of all those listed. Never gave me one.

You've missed some classic sweets off your list: sherbet lemons, rhubarb and custard, pear drops, fizzy pips, to name a few.

They are all qtr bags sweets, you had to ask for them and they were measured out by the shop keeper

My candy vice were Now-n-Laters, they were so fuckin addictive, especially Grape, Blue raspberry, Cherry n Watermelon !

They should be banned ffs ...they were so good

We had to walk to Woodhouses to the only shop we knew of that sold it.
