If this is true why the North Stand?

Why not just do the same to the South Stand?
i asked this, apparently (and all this is just rumour) they can't do it at the South Stand due to safety reasons because of the main road that runs behind it.

As it's all just rumour may I ask who told you this was happening?

Please, please don't say it was a steward.
not a steward, just someone who said he'd been told by a reliable source, i've taken it with a big pinch of salt, i put it on here to see if anyone else had heard it.

Would be great to have a stand like that but I doubt it's possible. Also, I wouldn't be too keen on all the singers being moved away from the away fans. Look at the Kop (leauge games), Everton's Gladyls(sp)End and the Stretford End. Despite the myths these are shit for atmosphere compared to our South Stand/Singing Section. I think it's no coincidence that the loudest fans at city have always been next to the away fans, even in the standing Kippax. Only problem is our singing areas are small and seperated so you'e got two small areas singing consistantly but different songs, wheras at other places where alot of the singers are behind the opposite goal to away fans, there isn't much consistant singing but when it gets going it's really loud because of all the singers in one place. I reckon it'd be better to move all the singers together onto one side of the away fans

does the north stand/stadiums architecture allow for anything like this? ... any budding architects know?

Im not an expert, but I would say it would be possible, but would be a big job.

The cables would probably need strengthening, and also they'd need to build supports at the end of the stands towards the north stand.

Then, build a stand with a flat roof, at the same height as the bottom of the bend in the roof of the east and west stands, and fill in the corners, probably with boxes if the club also want to attract more corporate clientel.

Would be quite a big job, but over there they dont hang around filling forms out etc, and get the work done.

by all accounts, trying to alter the cantilever roof to accomodate such a stand would be extremely difficult.

don't know if this has been mentioned on here before but, i heard today that the owner's were considering making the North Stand into one tier but making it as high as the West and East stand. They want to do this to try and get a better atmosphere and increase capacity. The question is, IF they did this would some of the South Stand/singing section move to the North Stand to get this going? i think it's a great idea, i've alway's liked what a massive end behind a goal like the Spion Kop or Holte End give's to an atmosphere.

I'd like to see one of the ends behind the goal made into one single tier. Probably implausible but it'd look and sound great.
?????????????????????

WTF?

My thoughts exactly.

Obviously I didn't make myself clear enough. COMS doesn't have a proper "end".

Stands with one tier (eg. Kop at Anfield) make more noise than stands with more than one tier due to the sound spreading more easily.

I also think the Sheikh should consider giving the poster "Spindash" on Bluemoon £100,000 in cash.

I spoke to someone on the train back from the match today. It was the old 'extending the ground' rumour. Apparently he knows someone who's in with the council and they want to build upwards to make it 60k. Apparently it would require taking off the roof. Again, pinch of salt but it's what I got told.
