The Official Ashes 09 Thread

Enforcing the follow on will hand the initiative back to the Aussies and the english will have the added pressure of batting the fourth innings. So England should bat and set the aussies a target of around 450 to get in the 4th innings IMO.

if they get em out early tomorrow get 6oo ahead then we will 2 days to bowl them out

Is running to the pavillion because of the shadows not breaking the spirit of the game?
Given that both sides agreed to use the floodlights for this series (Personally I dont think they should be but having agreed how to play the series I thinks its as hypocritcal as bacon face making a signing a week after decalring they were all done)

If we get these two out early we have to enforce the follow on, turn the screw and put them under for a change. There is no way we should lose from here, so its a case of being braver enough to force the win.

An average spinner with a dodgy finger and a pace man with no control shouldn't be feared on day 4/5 chasing what should be a small total

pitch still looks to be an absolute belter!
really think yesterdays middle/afternoon session was the best time to bowl, overcast rain, ball moving etc etc. will be interesting to see if we can avoid the follow on, and if not, will strauss enforce it?

this is why test cricket is amazing, questions are posed and answered all the time, the game can change with 1 wicket or a solid partnership, not many sports offer such ebs flows and intesity over 5 six hour days.
