Stephen st chippy in Bury has always been good.

Not now, but The Parkside chippy on Lloyd Street South (in later years some clown renamed it Chips and Gravy) round corner from Maine Road.

Amazing chippy and folks used to send me there or Kam Seng on Platt Lane every Thursday night.

Also The City Chippy on Claremont Road back in the old days when the fella Bernard used to run it.

Chinese chippies are usually better for me and they do proper Chinese curry sauce in some instead of the instant stuff. Fishpool's in Bury was alright too, they make their own pies, chips nice a fresh but that wasn't English either.
