This is the one you have all been waiting for :)....the thread where you can share a dodge with other Bluemooners, that maybe help them save money or make life just that little bit easier.
A couple to start:-
A few years ago, about 10pm at night, (Well it wouldn't be 10pm in the morning would it?) I was tapping a small nail in the wall to hang a small picture up, but unfortunately went straight through a vertical microbore central heating pipe, so I scraped a bit of the plaster away to expose the pipe, found where the leak was and put my finger on it, which thankfully stopped the leak, before too much damage had been done.
I shouted to Mrs Jockstrap to call a plumber, she said "you daft t**t, you are not going to get a plumber out at this time of night,.... I'm going to bed"
So after standing there for half an hour whistling to myself, I thought I had better think of something quick. I hit on the idea of covering the whole with some Blu Tac, and securing same with some strong tape.
This worked a treat, I proceeded to get a good nights sleep...(In the spare room), until I could get a local plumber round at 10am to fix it.
Also:- If you are wiring a (UK) plug, with the current wiring colours and you can never remember which way the wires go, just remember to take the SECOND letter of each colour, and you won't have any problems.....
eg:-
bLue......Left
bRown......Right
sTriped......Top
Any more?
