The official EDS and academy thread 2011/12

The most interesting thing will be whether we've sold Veseli to them or whether they'd signed him out of contract. If the latter they will owe us a compensation fee won't they?

I do think he has potential and would prefer he didn't end up there but this is hardly Giggs part two, Rekik is a much better prospect and Wabara seems to be rated higher at City (but not sold on him myself).

And again the club needs to have a good look at the older youths who are not getting any games because we pulled out of the reserve league and tanked in the NextGen. Veseli can't be blamed if he wants to leave as he's hardly kicked a football all year.

he's only just 19, will be 20 in November.

From what I've seen of him he's a very good player, no one has officially come out and said it's United yet, so perhaps he's going to Barnsley on loan haha.

good luck to him, but if he does end up at United I will boo him :)
Ah. Still, he has Savic blocking him for the next few years. Rekik is seen to be better than him so it's not surprising he has left but to utd is the confusing bit.

Very bizarre decision if true that he is going utd. Both from our prospective and his.

There is a hell of alot of CB at the scum even with injuries.

I'd be more comfortable playing me at CB than Savic at the moment (and im a 5'6 slightly chubby heavy smoking scrum half), when he's on the ball he looks calm, however when he's asked to make a tackle or head the thing he has the composure of a 15 year old losing his virginity.

Savic is about 15 months older than Viseli and much more accomplished in every aspect of football.

Dont get me wrong I will support Savic while he is at the club and I think he will turn into a very good player but at the moment he has struggled, and I understand that you cant compare the two as Savic is an international and has played in the Prem and in Europe, but why sign him for £7m when we have Wabara, Rekik, Veseli and Kennedy who will all play at a high level, and unfortunately will have their paths blocked by Savic?

Why sign Savic when we have those others? Presumably because the decision is those others won't make it presumably!
Wabara for me has masses of talent but not that much between the ears. He knows he has talent as well but for me just doesnt focus enough anddoesnt put enough consistent effort in.Seeing his twittering as well suggests he is a balloon! imo of course

Rekik will be quality but he is onlky just 17!

Kennedy is also still under 18 and maybe there is something there and England have been interested. Just coming back from injury but clearly one for the future rather than now or the nexy 2 years.

Veseli is a good player but must be considered by City as not good enough and unlikely to bridge the gap in the next few seasons. Quick but not quick enough! Good in the air but not dominant. etc etc

His agent tweet earlier

That journey back from liverpool felt so long. Especially on only 2 hours sleep. #knackered

So I'm guessing it could be the Dippers

Such a shame I thought Veseli looked ok, but obviously the guys at the academy thought otherwise............hope he does'nt turn up at certain team outside of Manchester, would be tragic................
