now reported on OS. Lad struggled on a few loan moves like Shrewsbury... but could be a quality Championship player. Always nice to see ex-academy players do well, good luck to him

Really looking forward to see how many chances the youth payers get under Pellegrini.
He said we have to build on the U21 team, so surely we have to use some of them this season mainly in the league and in the Cups.
Mancini gave playing time to the youngsters in pre season matches but never really gave them starting opportunity in serious matches apart maybe from 1-2 League Cup/Fa-Cup matches against mediocre opponent.
Hope the youth players will be tested in pre season and Pellegrini finds at least 3-4 he will use in the squad more than Mancini ever.
Hope its not all talk that youth is given chances and then we end up with some of them getting the rare 5 minutes in end of matches where we are 4-0 up anyway...
Guidetti as a 4th striker could be a good step in the right direction showing up a good example, but fear we sign two more strikers so his chances would be limited clearly. And even if he goes on loan and performs well he would come back and would find himself again as a 5th striker.

Can anyone tell me where Marcos Lopes is?
I know he had a slight injury at the end of last season, but that should be okay by now.

Interesting to say that he gave them a chance in pre season matches but in reality he had to because there were not enough players to fill the teams/squads due to players not coming back early after international duty.With everyone available he didn't use them.

I really want to catch an u21 match this season on a stream somewhere....Excited for the start of the season! Anyone have more info on whether we are in for that Hunte kid from Chelsea?

Not entirely sure but in May, the club website was reporting that he was injured in a Manchester Senior Cup game and the club was assessing him, so I'm guessing that since he appears to be in neither South Africa nor Croatia, that he is on the treatment bench.
