The ones that got away

Rony Lopes, Guidetti, Denis Suarez - had high hopes.

To be fair, Suarez has played for Barcelona and Arsenal. Lopes Monaco and Sevilla.

Diaz was a major disappointment , he was breaking into our first team at a similar rate to Foden , and now he is making the occasional bench appearance at Barca , he should have persevered here under the best coach in the business and i am quite sure he would be getting more game time in our blue shirt than Barca's , a shame the pull of his home country has robbed us of a potentially world class player.

He’s at Madrid mate not Barca. He looked class in the shield and some champions league games.

Barring the odd game, Stephen Jordan was utter tripe.

Many thought Weiss, Rekik, Sturridge, Guidetti and Matondo would go onto big things here.

Surprised Jack Byrne hasn’t been mentioned yet. There was massive hopes for him non more so than off of Vieira when he managed him & had him captain on the youth team in the year Byrne was the Champions League competitions top goalscorer from centre midfield.

looks like he’ll get a second craic at it somewhere in England, good reviews of him in the Irish league and seemingly nailed a spot on the international squad too.
