The Origin of the 'Clarkie'

As I remember, a poster from Northern Ireland going by the username of clarkie_ni or similar, responded stupidly to a blatantly sarcastic post from someone. It turned into an epic thread which spawned a catchphrase that has been used on this forum for years now (scary how quickly time has passed).

My memory of the exact details of this post are sketchy and the OP seems to have vanished along with the thread - can someone please fill in the missing details?

I can tell you all about Ajay "he said yes" (Kaka text) or Dave who faked his death and became Gina, but I can't remember how Clarkie happened.
