The penalty incident last night (Silva)

I'd like to see Clattenburgs reaction once again when he blew for their penalty. I'm sure he made a real oscar winning attempt at showboating his pointing to the spot, knowing the cameras were all on him as if to say 'there you go I'm handing it to you on a plate to beat these arrogant billionaire upstarts who dared to have an unbeaten record in December'.

Can handle getting beat, fuck knows we've had years of getting used to it, but having watched the Tottenham v Stoke game and ours last night there has definetly been some strange decisions going against the two teams daring to challenge the established elite.

It's also not just a case of the big decisions going against us but its the continuous small ones that break up our style of play. Ive lost count of the amount of times Balotelli is penalised against for absolutely nothing but rarely gets decisions going his way and for the record I seriously do think refs look at Balotelli and think 'oh well its that knobhead therefore....' The tackles from Miereles last night certainly helped stem our flow of football. Would like to see some our players being a little more vocal towards some of these decisions (did anyone really appeal the penalty) and show some more physicality in approaching and standing up to players like Miereles instead of walking away so that the next time his studs go into one of our players knee or rakes his shin the referee is well aware of his intentions.

No arguement with Clichy's sending off and the penalty for them can always go either way. Would like to see us as a team a bit more vocal and physically assert our togertherness on opposing teams a little more and I mean in defending or asking for contenstious decisions.

It's pretty simple, you don't have to book a player for diving just because you adjudged there to be no foul.

The "get up" gesture doesn't mean Clattenburg thinks Silva dived, just that he thinks there was no foul.

Contact happens all the time, referees gesture for a player to get up all the time, it's not indicative that someone's dived.

If he's not 100% sure if there was contact (i.e. if the defender pulled his leg out of the way) he's going to play on. It was easy for us to see on a replay the ref had one view of it straight on.

Get over it, we lost against a battling Chelsea performance. Still top of the league. 5 point gap to be restored on Sunday after Shauney does us a favour on Saturday.

we are sounding worse than rags,we cant blame referees any time we dont win,
our defence played like they were strangers, terry egged on his team all game.
our captain was just struggling with his own game

Can someone explain to me why, if Mark Clattenburg DOESNT think that is a penalty on David Silva, and gestures to him to get up, he doesn't book him for diving?

Decisions that really really don't make sense!
It's been said many many times before by referees, managers, pundits, fans... that just because a tackle is made and a player goes down it doesn't mean it is a foul, just as where a player goes to ground and isn't touched it's not always a dive. Dives aren't always bookings neither. The contact was on the other side of either the refs or linos view and it might have looked like he just went down but it wasn't either a foul or a dive (which is perfectly acceptable).

If we had played well and lost out in a really hard fought close game i reckon i'd be more disappointed in this decision but we were shit for 65minutes and didn't deserve to win. Also we had a full hour to make up for that and go on to dominate and win the game from there but we stopped performing and didn't deserve to win.

I will not think back to this decision as i'm a lot more bothered in our performance.

Maybe someone would be better explaining why the fuck Silva didn't shoot?

He had an open shot on goal.

Time for Merlin to take a breather and give Nasri his chance.

He was awful last night.

I agree mate , a 1st time shot instead of tryin to take the piss would've been the best option, 0-2 happy days.

Agree - it has to be said - though it was a pen

-- Tue Dec 13, 2011 2:49 pm --

Warnock will have him playing central defence in order to roll over for his fookin pisscan mate - there´s no way QPR will attack scum as they did us

Yes but Clatten-whatever should know which players are divers (honestly Balo does a bit here and there) and which are not and really graft to keep possession, aka Silva. It's a well known fact Silva doesn't drop to the ground for nothing, he does his damndest to stay up and dribble to set up a goal.

Also, the ref was very very inconsistent which is a primary rule according to the FA; a good ref is always consistent with his decisions - Clattenguy ... nah
