A lot of negativity following the result today, so thought I would post a thread pointing out the positives from the game, which are:

Thought Micah was awesome (hope his injury isnt serious).

Boateng looked composed and calm in defence, looks a player again.

Barry had another steady game, rarely gave possession and made some wonderfull passes.

Dzeko scored, he looks very good in the air, won most headers.

Biggest positive is we're still in the cup and will murder these men at home on our carpet. Villa at home is a decent draw too! Richards brilliant today BTW.

... and don't forget we played with only 10 men for the majority of the game!!

oh yeh Jo had something in his eye (and it wasn't the ball)

we'd of lost that 3 years ago..so well done for keeping us in it Micah and Edin.

Thats a fair assesment, however,as well as Barry performed he will never be at the level of a world class midfielder such as the likes of Ronaldo,Iniesta,Snjeider,Ozil,Xavi,Fabregas,Bale,Nasri,Nani,VDV,Schweinsteiger etc etc. which is what we need if we wish reality to match our ambition.

Boateng is definitely more suited to the centre half role and Richards best suits the role of attacking fullback.
