The Post Pep Blues?

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I mean, other than changing football worldwide, winning the domestic treble, winning the treble, 4 in a row, fastest 100 goals, 100 points, winning 20 trophies(amongst countless other records) and having a grandad cardigan, what did Pep do for us? Give me Brian Horton any day.

Seeing the older players yesterday, I thought about the quality of Kun, David, Bernardo, KDB, Vinnie, Ferna and Walker. Then realised we had them all in the team in 2019. That is the best team in English football history.
It was like a cheat code on FIFA having players like that, alongside Stones, a rampant Sane & Sterling, Jesus and others.

Don’t forget Leroy and Raheem

I feel like shit today. It feels like the morning after a funeral, gonna be hard but a lot of us have seen it all so now just gotta get on with it and support whoever takes the reins.
If I ever see Pep though I am holding him to what he said at the end, don't care where it is that man is feeling the love.

I am looking forward to the World Cup to take my mind off it all and I’ve not said that since our relegation years.

I wasn't gonna bother with the WC but the advantage of watching it is that even if we have a drop off at the start of the season the standard will still look good compared to what you've watched over the summer :-)

Will be supporting Maresca but have to think that Khaldoon et al. will start 'priming' the club for another long-term appointment (e.g Kompany, Enrique) just like they did for Pep

We've had a golden period of 10 years that nearly every other English team would bite your hand off for.

You can't replicate what made Pep so great, so just sit back and appreciate what comes next. We'll win titles and cups, maybe another UCL, but there's an obvious comedown after this.

The fact he clearly wanted to leave earlier but wanted to make sure he left the team in a good place is testament to how much he cares. It truly is the end of a chapter, but if he feels the best thing now is for someone to take the reins, I for one will look forward to it, whilst truly cherishing the memories Pep has given us.

Just to make matters worse, there was a programme on Sky last night of our 2017/2018 season which just highlighted how good we were going forward

Bernardo, David Silva, Fernandinho, Yaya, De Bruyne, Sane, Sterling and Aguero; even Jesus looked a world beater

I think people overlook how good Sterling was for us, I probably did at the time

Never been upset with football. I've been angry but not upset.

Today I genuinely feel upset. That damn video with the acoustic live forever tipped me over the edge.

Isn't really the football but missing the people I watched it with and the moments and memories with them.

Sadly my Dad passed away 5 years ago. He got to see the centurion season and the amazing performances like the 3-0 away to Arsenal with that Sane goal.

But sadly he missed the 4 in the row, the treble and the champions league. I didn't really enjoy those wins as much as he wasn't next to me and now that era is over too quickly.

But life goes on and so does City.

Just got to get used to the team being more ordinary.

Pep pushed Sterling to levels he never achieved before or after he left. The real genius of Pep is how he developed players. Messi has repeatedly said that Pep improved him hugely (if that's possible) and look what he achieved with Fabian Delph. There is no debate he is the greatest coach of all time. All this bollocks about Pep always having the best players. He built the Barcelona squad and has done the same at City, Genius is an understatment. He re-invented football.

Have to look forward, Khaldoon and the club have never let us down, Mancini, Pellegrini and Pep have all been planned and appointed by Khaldoon, with success each time. Whoever our new manager is, you know it will have been planned, Pep will probably given advice and support.

The club probably knew Pep was going before Christmas. Nothing gets done in a panic. We'll be ok, it will just be different.

Not especially down myself because we did the lot. A treble, domestic quad, 100 points and 4 in a row. Dont think anyone will ever get near 100 points again and the others are highly unlikely to happen any time soon either.

We thought he'd only be here a couple of years but he's done 10 and we've got a stand named after him! He's moved the club on massively. Gotta be happy with it.

As has been said we won leagues and played some top stuff with Mancini and Pellegrini so onwards and upwards. Need to get the summer right

As sad as it is it was time for change, Pep being the great he is saw this and unlike others knows when to move on. Who knows he may come back but both City and Pep need this as hard as it is to take.

When Pep came we never thought he'd last this long. 10 years of magnificent football with innovations that the English game had never seen before. But it's not just us that he affected. His impact on the English game was immense and he has changed it for the better. We will never see his like again so of course I'm sad it's over for us but wish him all the best and hope he enjoys some family time before resurfacing somewhere else. If I ever see him then I'll be sure of taking up the offer of giving him a hug.
