Yanks have been trying this for years at basketball, and it doesn't work. Good players will always do the business. Plus, I agree with the poster above, we'd look knobs. Added to that, if it was Shrek, do you really want him and the other Rags to do the Poznan in front of our fans if he did score it! Jesus, we'd be a fucking laughing stock.
 
...how about if all the fans behind the goal BLOW as hard as they can? - these new "featherlight" balls I've been hearing about will soon drift easily into Joe's arms.......

Im just going to put this out there.

Noticed while listening to commentary and watching MoTD that other fans have started copying us now. Granted we copied it off someone else but we are going to slowly lose it as our own unique celebration in this country(well we already have). Maybe its time we stopped but then saying that its all fun

As a big basketball fan I can tell you that this does work on some players,and NBA has the advantage of the basket being raised so its easier for them to focus solely on the basket,as opposed to a goal at eye level that is filled with fans behind it.
 
The away fans would almost certainly poznan if the penalty went in, then that would piss me right off

The amount of penalties that have fans going mad behind the goal, then the striker steps up and slots it away would suggest it rarely works.
 
Sounds like a good idea, don't think it'd catch on though. Lots don't like the poznan as it is
 
I think it would be jolly un-sporting to attempt to put off a chap taking a penalty, and we should stand still and watch as he pits his skills against our custodian.
