What's that got to do with the price of fish?

Come on fella get your taxi called, your coat is with the doorman.

Tbh i thought a chinese was expensive and not bought a proper chippy in over 10 years until tonight.
Fish is ok and so are pies-ish, i should add this place is heavily well regarded around these parts of Leeds.

The secret i always thought and still do is in the cooking medium.

Note::
The three for a tenner deal at tesco has 4 "fish" (pollock i think) fillets and they are lovely and sweet, that with beef mince and lamb leg chops, winner.

was chatting to a Chinese fella who owns a chippy yesterday and i was asking him all about his chippy and we got talking about fish,i asked him if he sold cod or haddock? he said it was all too expensive and that he sells fish that is farmed in Vietnam, called (Pam) something or other,how can fish that has been farmed, frozen and flown half way round the world end up being cheaper than a fish that is caught off the coast of Britain?

at least he was honest about selling this cheap fish

many chippy's sell it as cod. Ive read reports about this, its quite common

Panga or Basa is a product of the Mekong Delta which is awash with agent orange from the war

Some people without a general fish allergy are allergic, potentially even fatally, to pangasius and Basa

I wouldn't eat it, you can buy it dirt cheap in Aldi (frozen)

That bloke in East London knocks fish out for £1

Considering the fact that there must be a very small market for people who want fish knocking out, you would expect he would have to raise his rates just to make a living! A professional hitman can be anything up to £10k!

10k? Thought it'd be more than that. Interesting.

Pam? Do you mean Pangasius? Or River Cobbler? It's a type of cat fish. Not keen on it myself, it's farmed now but not sure if the farming areas run off from the Mekong, in which case they'll be eating shit and christ knows what.

edit: just saw nimrods post.
