He wasn't even trying at the end of the race. He hasn't really needed his UAE teammates. Just as well, as they have been pretty poor.

Another storming ride by a Bahrain rider (Colbrelli) to finish at the top end of a stage with multiple high climbs. Think I heard they have won something like 12 races/stages in the last 35 racing days.
 
So with Demare and Coqard being picked up in the broom wagon yesterday, and with Ewan, Merlier and MVDP leaving the race, that significantly increases Cav's chances of winning more stages.

Ideally, he beats the record on Champs Elysee while confirming himself in Green. It will probably be bigger than winning the Tour itself.

The biggest hurdle, as well as winning the sprint stages, is getting over Ventoux (twice).

Don’t think he’ll make it past the Pyrenees so it has to be this week. He won’t get a better chance. The stars have truly aligned
