The Pro Road Cycling Thread

Just giving this a bump for probably the last time this year.
Last Monument of the season today, to my mind the end of the cycling season, Tour of Lombardy.
Fabulous scenery, though a bit misty and cloudy today.
Farewell for Dan Martin today; had a wonderful career, and given us some great memories.
Not sticking my neck out too far with this, but if he’s motivated Alaphilippe could be a good shout for the win.

Pogocar for me. Roglic looked good in Milan Torino so could be another to look out for. I was at this race 2 years ago, paid top £ to sit in the VIP tent, free booze which I took full advantage of, absolutely steaming by the time Bauke Molemar raised his hands.

Lol, remember much of the race do you?! That sounds like the sort of thing I’d like to experience once tbf, but I do like taking my own bike to watch a race, and making a day of it for myself too.
Yes, good suggestions. I’ve nothing against Roglic as such, but given the choice of the two, I’d prefer to see a Pogacar win.
I’m finding it hard to visualise what’s to come here, cos they seem to be riding a reverse route to normal.

Went with this lot who do all sorts of packages for the monuments and grand tours. You can ride in the commissaire car for a grand. 5 grand gets you in the helicopter at Roubaix! I paid £200 for my thing and drank 5k’s worth of Chianti. The Italians nursed one glass of Prosecco between them.

Well said! And a well deserved win; love a win from the front like that. Any lotto numbers for later? ;-)
