yes and it isn't only the left but the right as well,and this are one of the problems which cost us our place in next year's CL.i hope we look careful our fulllbacks who can gives option when we break or attack course that Boateng can't attack or cross he only defends and these may course us one day when we start the season with out fullbacks who can cross and attack beautifull like Macion Evra,etc................

Change the IS to a WAS and I reckon you're nearer the truth. Loads of injuries in recent years and he's lost a yard of pace and it really shows. I used to think he was really decent but now, he's barely better than Garrido and that is saying something. Even someone like Konchesky would be a better bet than Bridge going on last season's performances. You're right though, top class LBs are few and far between.

Top quality right backs: Maicon , Alves erm... erm... erm...(maybe Sagna / Van der Wiel)
Top quality left backs: Evra / Clichy / Coentrao / Kieron Gibbs / Kolarov / Heinze / Taiwo / Michel Bastos (even though he normally plays further forward at club level) + loads of others that would be a massive upgrade on Bridge.

It is a lot easier to get quality left-backs than right backs:
Evra > Neville
Clichy > Sagna
Cole > Ivanovic / Ferreira / Bosingwa
Baines > Hibbert
Bale > Corluka

I think left back is by far the weakest position in our current squad, with right back (even after signing Boateng who would rather play CB) not far behind.

I agree, our left backs are all wank and as I said finding marginally better ones would be simple. Just not sure there are too many who we could realistically get who would be top class. Maybe just one or two, Kolarov or Contrao, perhaps.

hi, i'm a Lazio fan, and a i can say you that Kolarov could be the best LB in the world in 5-6 years
he is very fast and could solve a game if he wants to play very well, because he has a not a good character (it's happened that he fucked supporters)
and sometimes he could vanish from the pitch
he has a very strong left-feet, but not so precise
his most beaufitul goal was scored in the derby against roma, when he started running from our box(in the last video there is this goal)

cunninghams quite good for his age and has tons of potential two,maybe hell be fist choice for ireland in a few years but gotta agree on bridge he looked well of it against Aston villa, hope we get contrao

Nowhere near better than Bridgy. Couple of seasons maybe, but at the moment, not even close.

Gibbs is better than bridge because pretty much everyone is better than under the bridge for me,gibbs also has more pace and he is way better going forward from what i have seen of him and he is yet to peak as a player whereas bridge is pretty much done and is only going to get worse from now onwards .
