The problem with hughes - imo

I'd rather a manager kept cool than doing that irrititating salmon leap that Martin O'Neill does.

you forgot to mention the quick sip on his blue water bottle.

He is totally useless.

Just watch him for periods... he sits on his arse and stays there, hardly ever gets up and shouts to the team, gives encouragement, direction...

He is the worst manager we've ever had by a country mile... Frank Clarke, Alan Ball and all...

I once read a comparison of Keegan and baconface, and their body language from the touchline. This was back in the day of 'I'd love it, I'd love it if we beat them' etc. Keegan bounded about or had his head in his hands, depending on how things were going. baconface on thoe other hand, is impassive- a goal scored either way and the camera cuts to a scotchman masticating like a dairy cow. baconface is a twat, don't get me wrong, but this, i understand, reveals that he's far better at holding his reserve, and so is better equipped to deal with pressure.

I think there's a few problems with Hughes, however in my opinion the main one is that he seems to have one style of management (I suspect that this is a fairly disciplinarian style). Now this approach can get results with some members of your team (and I'm talking about any profession now), but what a good manager has to realise is that every single member of his team requires a different approach in order to get the very best out of them. The 'on size fits all' style simply does not work.

As a player (and he was a great player), I reckon MH responded to the firm handed approach that Ferguson is well known for. What MH doesn't seem to have realised is that Ferguson (as much as I hate to say it) is also a master at the arm around the shoulders approach (Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, etc). It's a very difficult skill t learn & I don't know whether MH has got it in him to change his style.
