The Q Word

It's a stupid media thing. As optimistic as I am about our season, we could end up with no trophies and certainly won't win four i.e. we are more likely to win nothing than win four.

steady on mate

The two M's media and marketing, that's all who cares. I wouldn't put it past MP if he stripped the competitions names of the fixtures list and covered future games before the current one is played.

edin had the perfect answer and i suspect this will be the party line come what may.....paraphrasing....we go into every match believing we can win and the next match is the most important

This. They praised Dzeko and set him up for a fall with the next question, the Q word, Aguero's return to fitness etc etc. It was one of the best post match interviews I've ever heard. Unfortunately they cut most of it off in the highlights programme.

Back to the original question, Yes the Queen is a blue, it's been in one's blood ever since Tony Colemen sent her his regards in the '69 F.A. Cup Final. Although she's passed the reins onto Princess Beatrice of York Away after William took an unwise choice with Villa she still follows the boys in blue on TV when she's not watching the horse racing.

I think it is mainly the media.

Yes we can win all four but unlikely.

Lets get to the Capital One Cup Final first, win it and then go from there.

One game at a time.

No chance we'll do the quadruple. No English team will win the CL. I'll be like a dog with two sets of balls to lick if we won two trophies.
I will be with you if that happens . A double would be fantastic .

I look at the season as chunks of five games at a time. I don't really look any further ahead than that (apart from the excitement of playing Barça).

Quadruple? Ha, save it! We'll see where we are at the beginning of May and never speak of the word again until then.

Quadruple? I can't stop thinking "typical City". I can't help but feel we'll add to our record of really strange records. To go with only team to score 100 and concede 100 in the same season and the classic only team to get relegated the season after being Champions, how about we score the most goals ever and win nowt? Or come runner up in every competition??!!
I hate these feelings but whenever I start to dream they are lurking in the background. I would take just the league now, but believe we can win the Prem and League Cup. Three or four? No, surely not? But, just maybe...The suspense is killing me... I hope it lasts :-)

As for the real Q, well as long as we are in all 4 competitions we have a chance. As long as we are in all 4 competitions and scoring for fun, we have even more of a chance. Will it happen? I would say no. Can it happen? Of course it can, for the reasons above. The media have picked up on our form since early December and that is why the drum is now being banged, because we simply look unbeatable at the moment and already have 1 and 3/4 feet in one final.
It's fucking amazing, and to hear the plaudits we are getting just makes it better.

Pelligrini hinted at why this is so unlikely.

At the moment, he has been largely able to put really strong sides out in every competition, but a couple of injuries in the same area during a spell of crucial top of the Prem games, then a big Champions League game & you suddenly end up playing an FA Cup tie at Anfield with Boyata centre back, Garcia & Rodwell playing centre mid & Lopes out wide, because you've only got a small squad of fit players & half desperately need a rest.

Of course if we aim to win the European Super Cup and the world club thing (if it's still going) and the Community shield, and the Thomas Cook trophy then it's the O word we need to avoid.
