The Qataris want to buy........

Newcastle would be a very good club to buy, the fan base, stadium and training facility's are all already in place so there's already lots of potential to turn them into one of Europe's most powerful clubs. Much like what we were when Sheikh Mansour took charge here on the wonderful September's day.

City had a good English fanbase but nothing special worldwide or European wide. City were just lucky that Frank had contacts and the land around the ground was a unique selling point. As a club we've struck gold but if it were not for these backers we would be mid-table in the Premiership at best.

Let the good times roll, but the owners we have our very special indeed and we've won the lottery

I'm surprised newcastle hasn't been bought before. The only thing i can think of is mike ashley wanting to much for it. If i was looking at a club to buy and i had silly money like they do. I'd go for either everton (money spent on grounds doesn't count in FFPR) or Villa.

I can think of a few other teams that personally I'd consider before Blackburn.

Everton (would cost a lot for new ground)
Newcastle (decent ground and support but out of the way)
Sunderland (decent ground and support but out of the way)
Villa
Tottenham (london based)

Some cheap options, if you've got cash to burn, want a team with some "istree" (some of them) and prepared to wait I'd even think of some of these:

One of the Sheffield clubs (dirt cheap but need to build squad)
Derby
Leeds
Nott's Forest
Brum
Crystal Palace

Am I out of line in wondering why no big players have been interested in West Ham? London, decent support, historic club. The twat owners might be a problem, but they've just got the club relegated so maybe they'd take their money back.

Sheffield Wednesday could be bought cheaply and has a strong fan base that would bring in great rewards with a newly built squad. I hope that more of our struggling clubs attract the interest of these cash rich arabs, it would piss off the rags and dippers no end.

Almost sounds like a quote from Bryan Robson in that undercover programme a few months back, is he still available to set up a few loan deals ;-)

Fernandes, QPRs current tycoon is West Ham fan he tried to buy the club but Sullivan and Gold didn't want to sell for anything less than crazy money. But you're right West Ham does have potential.

Leeds Utd would be the stand out amongst the lot. No problems developing the existing site. Right next to the motorway. Still able to bring a certain level of youth through and would cost a pittance to buy and only need a about 4 quality players to be certain of promotion. All the top clubs mentioned would cost a hell of a lot more and aside from the north east teams are in cul-de-sacs, when it comes to ground development. I would go for Leeds Utd everytime.
