Fair's fair. When I saw who was refereeing tonight, I feared the worst, but he was pretty consistent, wasn't fooled by players going down easily and tried to let the game flow.

If he was a player, that would be enough for solid 9. One of the best refereeing performances I've seen in some time.

I thought he was shit

Pulled us up loads of times for nothing fouls and waved play on loads of times when they did exactly the same

Started off poorly, thought he was going to spoil the game but he gained control and was very decent. Gave a few too many soft ones for my liking but it's not the refs fault the Madrid players fall like they've been shot and the slightest of touches. Not seen a replay but i felt he got that decision to give them a freekick right on the edge spot on. The player went down well into the box but he wasn't fooled and noted the contact was right on the edge. Don't expect to have a ref as competent as him next week.

One of the better ones. Thought one of Bale's tumbles in the box could easily have been given as a pen but he'd cried wolf earlier.

Got that one very wrong on the edge of the box as far as I'm concerned. And I've seen a replay.

Nope Bale tripped himself up Kompany just stayed strong no pen even Howard web said, might have a had a freekick that wasn't given though but he went down too easy, we had a better shout at the other end with KDB I think it was near the corner of the pitch thought Hargreaves was little biased on that comparison. Other time was the same thing with Otamendi not doing much other than running with the player and staying strong to usher the danger away and the player trips up.

Real Madrid claimed everything. When a forward went in a 50-50 with the keeper they were screaming. Every conceivable challenge was appealed and contested. Ref did OK in the circumstances

Thought he was decent.

Utd fans go on about him for (correctly) sending off Nani when Real knocked them out but I've never seen him have a bad game

Was it in the box or no foul? Like i said, not seen a replay yet, my initial thoughts at the match were foul but iffy on the location. Perhaps more hope than anything that it was just on the edge
