The Referee Tonight

Reasonable ref. Worst decision was not playing advantage when Sergio was through after someone was fouled (forget who).

Excellent performance on the whole. If being hyper critical he could have given a couple of cards for diving and one or two occasions he should have played advantage. But best ref I've seen in a long while.

I thought he had a great game. There was a couple of decisions I didn't agree with, but he got the big ones right. He certainly didn't fall for Bale's bullshit and there are plenty of refs out there who would have given them a couple of dodgy pens tonight.
Nothing to complain about whatsoever.

Thought he was pretty good to be honest. Seen far worse refs in the CL.

Can always complain but overall was certainly fair and did not play to reputations. Felt there was a period beginning of second half when everything seemed to go there way and gave them some momentum, but I always see every decision through blue tinted glasses

He didn't give Madrid the penalties that Bale ADMITTED they were strategically looking for, and he didn't randomly send off one of our players. So for me, he's as good as a Champions League ref can get. If you think he was bad, another ref would have seen tonight's game finish 3-0 to Madrid, out of nowhere. Corrupt twats.

Thought he done really well, pretty consistent, let the play go on.

Its a given that whoever refs next week will melt under the Spanish fans moaning.

Shows the difference between European and our bunch of rag loving cunts.

I thought he was very good for a CL referee. The one glaring mistake was no card for Ramos for that "studs up" tackle, which could have broken Fernandinho's ankle.

I'd have to watch it again. At the ground I thought he was poor but the third tier in the East stand isn't the best for fouls that could go either way.

One of the better ones. I can accept mistakes from refs if they're made for the right reasons.
He's not intimidated, he doesnt fall for theatrics, he gives decisions as he sees. Gets more right than wrong.

Before tonight I had him down as the stand out ref in Europe.

He was woeful at times tonight, an accumulation of small errors. Glad he didn't fall for the diving inside the box though.

He was poor. Stopped the game from flowing. Too many Madrid players playing the ref. To say he did well because he didn't give Madrid a pen when bale went over (after tripping himself up) is just a referee doing his job.
I know the next ref will be a homer and Joe will have a penalty to save, it's nailed on.
