The Referee Tonight

I wasn't at the game, so watched it on a stream, but I thought the referee was far too easily influenced by Madrid. I did have the benefit of replays tho

I thought he was shit

Pulled us up loads of times for nothing fouls and waved play on loads of times when they did exactly the same
This. Totally shit. Rammon should have had a red card toward he wasn't even booked. showing performance.

I've seen far worse CL refs. Then again, I've seen far worse PL refs this season, so all in all I can't complain. There were no match-deciding decisions anyhow so it's not really that big an issue all said and done. We can over analyse anything to suit a potential advantage, but it really means cock-all at the end of the day.

I was reduced to watching it on TV (sorry). I thought he was fair, decisive, and far better than any prem referee I have seen this season. If he was bent, he had the opportunity to "call" penalties. My only criticism, is there were a few times he could have cautioned for diving or feigning.

When Ramos planted stud ,it should have been yellow atleast . Good thing he didn't fall for Bales diving who is really good at.
Turkish Cuntenburg

Thought he was okay, lots of non fouls but you expect that in Europe. At least he got all the big decisions spot on which doesn't happen much in our league.

Can't believe how some have you have seen this game. That was as good a refereeing performance as you'll see, especially in Europe. Controlled the game, didn't fall for any of Madrid's diving and play acting, didn't stop the flow of the game and didn't get his cards out. In fact that would be his only criticism, could have been 3/4 yellows either way but he wanted to keep it simple in a Champs League semi, good on him.

The only one he really got wrong in Madrid's favour was when Aguero went through and he gave a foul for a pull back that didn't exist. Apart from that he was practically perfect.

Thought he was excellent. Only slight issue is that I wish he gave a booking for a some of the dives

Ironic how so many of you saying he wasn't fooled by all the diving and histrionics yet he awarded 20 free kicks against us and booked nobody for diving.

He also missed out on three or four yellow cards to us, especially for repeat offences. And apart from one, there was at least some contact on the 'dives' anyway so no yellow cards. A couple of our players went down very easily as well.

Although he gave a foul for it, Ramos was very lucky in the 1st half to not get a red for his foul on Fernandinho.

Apart from that, he had a very good game.

He's the one of the few European refs I actually recognise. And the only reason behind that is i've never seen him have a good game. Though last night, surprisingly, he wasn't too bad. Frustrating at times, stopping the game for no reason, giving nothing FKs (for both teams) but then that's expected in the CL nowadays. Wish he'd been stronger in the 'big' decisions and would booked Bale for diving. Saying that, it was definitely heart in mouth time when they claimed their 2nd pen. The guy put the whistle in his mouth!
