The riot that banned alcohol from Scottish football

I assume it got worse after that footage ended, as all I saw was a load of kids running around the pitch waving scarves. Hardly a "shameful riot".

It's ridiculous that you can watch any other sport with a beer in your hand, but not football.

Thats the paradox at the DW Stadium now.

I am a Wigan RL season ticket holder and allowed to drink throughout the first half (the bar shuts at KO of the 2nd half) and attend RL games with Wigan Pathetic season ticket holders who sit in the very same (already segregated) South Stand for Premiership games but are not allowed to drink.

Same people, same view, same segregation, different sport on pitch ergo different rules apply!

Similar story but when England played Argentina at the Swamp last summer people were taking drinks onto the stands rag sat near me spent best part of half an hour bitching about it ended up moving a block away. both codes of rugby have a totally different mind set the fans are treated like adults thats the main difference

Got to laugh at the commentry. He actually sounds excited that he has this to report on.

If people can't go 90mins without alcohol then why bother?

Does my head having to stand up for people as they get in to the game 15mins late then leave 15 mins later to go for their 45 min half time etc.

If people who drank could handle it then you'd still be allowed to drink at grounds, as it stands though most blokes have half a pint and think they can take on the world. Bit sad really.

I've never drank at the footy and probably never will, don't see the point in missing the game queueing, paying 5quid for piss and sugar with a hint of lager in a plastic glass then having it spilt all over me by a pleb who's downed his piss n sugar quicker than most and is now unable to stand.

I'd rather have a quick doobie before the game, enjoy the match and leave the pissing about until I'm in a pub or something.

This is a great idea. The only way I can watch Falkirk anymore is drunk.

Totally understandable. The Bairns are never pleasing on the eye when you're sober ;o).

However are in the SPL and made a the Scottish Cup final by beating a certain team. Can't remember the name now. ;)
