Just been reading through the 'ROBINHO' thread in the classics, and it brought back some memories of the excitement of that day. What I was wondering is whether there is anything now that could shock us in such a way that we were that day. In my opinion nothing could happen now that would come to us as as much of a surprise as that did.

Thoughts?

Messi having a ten bob and a packet of bonbons release clause in his contract that only Manchester city can activeate might just do it ;)

i reckon that day will be similar to the "where were you when jfk was shot ?" day

I went nuts. I was in a Walkabout, drunk off my ass, and I saw it come up on a big Sky Sports News screen. I went running to tell my friends and none of them believed me.

only messi could generate the sort of excitment nowadays, i was thinking about that night when Robinho signed last week when the tansfer window was not far from closing, I switched off the telly and immediately my mind went to the moment when Robinho was announced, I remember I phoned feedthegoat and we literally just laughed down the phone to each other for about 10 mins then said "seeya saturday" and that was it, no other words were spoken by any of us

That day got me a disciplinary in work for failure to carry out my daily duties. Woke up to news we were being taken over and by the time i got to work, news was breaking we were the richest club in the world. I sat on the Internet all day seeing reported bids for Gomez, Torres, Berbatov, Lahm etc. Then the news of Robinho hit the headlines! I was winding rags up all over the show (probably them who grassed me up). Next day walk in work with a hangover to be told of the disciplinary. Luckily it was just a written warning and even that couldn't wipe the smile off my face
