The Rolling Stones at Anfield

I saw Barry Manilow in concert in Vegas several years back, that just about finished me with live shows.

He was plugging his latest album “Here at the Mayflower”, I did not know any of the songs and they weren’t that good. He had had so much plastic surgery he looked grotesque and appeared to be standing in a wind tunnel with all his skin pulled backwards on his face. He had a sore throat and was sucking pastilles all show, you could hear clicking as he sang. The theatre at the Paris Hotel was barely 50% full and an usherette came along the row and said we could move to the front if we wanted, I politely declined as it was easy to escape from our position near the rear of the theatre.

Every time I hear his name I break out into a cold sweat.

My mam and dads favourite band ever

I’m taking them. Got 3 tickets on the kop

probably the last time they’ll ever see them live so couldn’t miss the opportunity

Bill Wyman in his white suite at our place. Best forgotten.

These days they may as well be karaoke, but they are not alone.

Have you seen them recently?
I saw them at Murrayfield maybe 4 years ago and they were absolutely amazing. I saw the Who at the Hydro the same year and they were certainly going through the motions but the Stones still look like they are enjoying every second.
