There we were, now here we are
It does grip you. The cynics can knock it all they want, it's still magical.
Every year I think 'It's not what it used to be' and then 3rd round weekend comes and I'm bang into it.

Thought it was really interesting at the most recent fans forum when Mancini asked the fans what they'd prefer (various combinations, qualification for champions league OR win the FA Cup etc). It seemed to me to be pretty much A 50/50 split amongst us.

So are you still 'up for the cup'?

Champions league qualification or F.A Cup win?

I'm greedy and obviously want both....

It's the old english attitude of our cup competition is more important than anyone elses business and the final played at the home of football.

Whenever you hear players from the past talk they always say the F.A Cup was the big one, in other countries they're not interested in their cup competitions. I don't think it's our arrogance, we just value(d) it more than anyone anywhere else.

For where the club wants to go it has to be CL although i am sure we would all love a cup run.

Its got to be champions league qualification. That's the most important thing for this club to move forward.

I agree completely.

BUT a win in the F.A. Cup final at Wembley would feel so much better than say, clinching a top four place at the Reebok. I'm not suggesting that we prioritise or anything like that because if we did there would only be one winner. I'm just thinking emotively.

Given a straight choice I'd pick 4th but seeing as we're looking nailed on for top 3 at the moment I think we should be looking at playing a full-strength team in every round.
