The RSF, The UAE and the killings in Sudan

That would depend if any of the american owners are part of the government or work within the arms industry.

And if they donated money to any of the political parties who are at fault? You know they all do it. We could call them Associated Party Transactions so they are all culpable.

It is clearly politics and war as well as geopolitics and genocide. The UAE has every right to protect its strategic interests in Sudan by supporting a particular side. No problem at all with that. What we don't know is to what extent, if any, they are involved in the genocide (I am assuming none) or to what extent they are trying to rein in the RSF (I am assuming we will never know, these people are secretive, they don't do geopolitics by tweet). Tbh, I doubt anything is ever so clear cut that people on a football forum can get to the bottom of it so I am keeping my powder dry.
Thats a poor post especially this bit.

"What we don't know is to what extent, if any, they are involved in the genocide (I am assuming none)"

From all the articles/videos and news reports coming out of the UAE, They are balls deep in this Genocide. It's not hard to say we have abhorrent owners you know.

.
You mean are the UAE govt funding/helping the RSF in the North Sudan civil war?
Then yes lots of independent evidence saying they are.
And the RSF seems to have engaged in genocide.
Up to you what you think that reflects on the club & you as a City fan.
Me..... I don't give a fuck about the UAE. Fuck them & their shitty horrible govt. But fuck me if I'm giving up going to City, nope.
Good post, people need to remember we were here first. The owners of the club dont define us, we are City.
No one from what I can see is telling anyone to do anything. We are just discussing horrific events currently going on like we did with Ukraine Palenstine and many others in the past.
If it isn't for you, if you prefer not to care/know thats fine. No one forces you on the thread
It seems you should avoid certain social media platforms as well. I don’t bother with them but im sure most will know which ones.

We spend years defending ourselves against accusations we are a state owned club and at the first chance we have fans more than willing to put 2+2 together and come up with 5 claiming our owner is the state and we now have “abhorrent owners”.

Interesting that that is your reaction. My morals are entirely consistent - they don't bend with the latest news story, and certainly not under pressure from a fucking football forum. I am leaving my pitchfork in the garden shed for now but will see if any future reputable news changes that situation. If you don't like it, I really don't care.
Wasn’t really a dig at you mate.I think everyone is a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to stuff like this when City are involved.Ive never had much time for our owners or got involved in the worship of them or the we should be so thankful to them shite. It’s our club and hopefully always will be despite their best efforts to see as many of the working class fanbase off.

I’ll be there tomorrow though and that probably makes me a hypocrite but football is so ingrained in family traditions it’s a tough one to just sack off due to owners being abhorrent.

People need to stop the whataboutary bringing up other clubs to try and justify our owner, it isn't relevent or comparable

The thread is about the UAE and its involvement in Sudan and how it affects us.

You presumably mean by supplying funding and materiel or do you have evidence Emiratis are in Darfur organising and executing the massacres?

That's a genuine question, by the way. I am willing to learn. My pitchfork is in the garden shed, but it is sharpened ....

Maybe we have different definitions of balls-deep when it comes to genocide.

Is our “owner” as you put it now solely responsible for genocide in Sudan?

If you posted that i would comment on that, its hard work this it really is. Some of you can try and deflect by saying other people do bad things. The only problem is we already know this and would also talk about it. So it isn't a valid argument.
It just looks desperate. You are free to not discuss Sudan. I don't see what the problem is.

Some of the rhetoric is absolutely brainless. Reminds me of the first hundred pages of the 115 thread. People who should know better coming out with "if it's true, they should all leave". It's pure knee-jerkism.

Let's wait and see what comes out and then make our minds up. As far as I can see, they have the right to protect their strategic interests in Sudan, but they obviously need to be reining in the RSF.

Or they could just issue a statement, FFS.

no one is saying we are state owned here, but Mansour is in a friend of Hemedti before the civil war and has had him as a guest many times

UN investigations and US intelegence have been consotant that since the conflict started aid charitie beloning to Mansour set up in the country to help civilians were being used for ilegal arm shipments and to funnel funds, this is also claimed for Libya too.

Sudan is seen as soil rich for agricultural investment and it's ports and Lybias vital to create a trade route to the med that bypasses Iranian controlled shipping, UAE are heavily invested, but most of the reports but our Sheikh as the one at the head of this stratergy.

we are not state owned and no one is saying that, but we are connected to one of the main players in this tragedy unfolding.

se my reply to your state owned post, he is accused by the UN and US inteligence to be part and heavily involved, no one said he solely was though, but his alleged involvement isn't one you can ignore tbf.

There is a statement made by the UAE government

The UAE is appalled at the inferences concerning the UAE’s involvement in the conflict in Sudan, inferences that rely on a network of misidentifications, misinterpretations, and deliberate misrepresentations circulated by the Port Sudan authority.
“The UAE is not involved in the civil war in Sudan, and it has not provided arms or any related material to any party in Sudan since the outbreak of the conflict. The UAE fully adheres to its international obligations in relation to the transfer of military goods and enforces a robust regulatory framework in this regard.”

I won’t link but when Tariq Panja is suddenly writing for Genocide Watch and you can guess what he says about the club then it tells you all you need to know about the motives for many right now to throw dirt once more.

:) It was a joke.

Piss poor excuse really
No not really. I could not care less. I go to football to watch my team . To escape the shite mundane life. To piss about and take the piss out of mates. I always thought football wasn't political. . If the rest of tge world wants to kill itself you crack on save it.

If you genuinely want to learn about the matter, you can do your own research and will find numerous irrefutable claims about UAE's role in this genocide. However, if you don't want to believe it, then no amount of cold-hard evidence will make you change your mind because you don't like the truth.
