The RSF, The UAE and the killings in Sudan

No not really. I could not care less. I go to football to watch my team . To escape the shite mundane life. To piss about and take the piss out of mates. I always thought football wasn't political. . If the rest of tge world wants to kill itself you crack on save it.
It’s a bit of stupid retort to say go and save the world. Yeah, i’ll try and get into Palestine or Sudan and get myself killed because i think it’s appalling what’s going on over there. Nothing wrong with speaking out against something and people doing so and protesting has helped bring an end to many conflicts over the years.

Regarding going to the match i tend to agree with you. Football should be about escapism from the mundane and about having a good time with family and mates. Could i ask though would there be anyone owning us though that would make you say i can’t have this person as our owner?Or would you be happy whoever it was providing we still have Haaland upfront etc?

Plus weapons and engines the UK supplied to the UAE turning up again there (in a report 4 days ago), despite UAE denials for a long time, which on balance look like complete lies.

I'm not sure why so many are upset that the UAE defense minister in a dictatorship is getting some flack when there is most likely an evidence based link to assisting the genocide. Whatever the intention of supplying the arms were, they denied it and have been shown to have been dishonourable.
Seems like we are blaming the victims

3 year old babies being hung from trees btw

Interesting that that is your reaction. My morals are entirely consistent - they don't bend with the latest news story, and certainly not under pressure from a fucking football forum. I am leaving my pitchfork in the garden shed for now but will see if any future reputable news changes that situation. If you don't like it, I really don't care.

Yes they are and I want UAE out of our club asap.
The earlier we dissociate amicably, the better, especially now that the media hasn't gone crazy with this news. I feel like we are currently witnessing the calm before the storm and when that storm hits (and it will), if we haven't severed all ties to the UAE by then, all hell would break loose and the clubs management and PR team would be stumbling over each other as numerous PR mistakes and leaks would be a daily occurrence, I suspect Asahi and a few other sponsors might not want to be associated with the club. Get ahead of this mess and cut off all ties

We spend years defending ourselves against accusations we are a state owned club and at the first chance we have fans more than willing to put 2+2 together and come up with 5 claiming our owner is the state and we now have “abhorrent owners”.

Our owner has always been part of the state. That’s different to being state owned, which PSG and Newcastle both are.

I’ve always been very clear. We have a great owner but the UAE government are and always have been a bunch of cunts.

Sadly, you could replace UAE with about 175 other countries and that sentence would still be true…
Very true and which is why so many are against State Owned clubs. Which I agree with although I don’t believe we are state owned.

There are very few governments around the world which are not cunts. There are also, for what it’s worth, very few (if any) billionaires that are not cunts that have done terrible things to multitudes of people to become said billionaires either.

Very few people who aren't cunts underneath their veneer of respectability.

One must understand that the current genocide is not truly part of the present conflict between the SAF and the RSF, but rather a continuation of the land disputes that flared up between Black African farming communities and Arab nomadic tribes when Darfur was hit by severe droughts in the 1970s and 1980s — disputes that ultimately culminated in the Darfur War of 2003–2010. That the RSF possesses British weapons is not surprising, since they took part in the war in Yemen on our side.

Not forgetting that in that war in the 2000s there was a Darfur genocide carried out by both the RSF and the SAF. This is a civil war, the nastiest of wars, where long-held grievances that were bubbling under the surface become reasons for war crimes when the thin layer of civility is destroyed. It doesn't excuse what is going on in Darfur, but saying what is happening there now is only the fault of the UAE is like saying what is happening in Gaza now is only due to October 7. It's much more complicated. The same would probably be happening if the SAF controlled Darfur.

None of this absolves the UAE from their responsibility to react and get the RSF under control, though.

The American owners aren’t second in command in the US govt though. Mansour is in UAE.

I’m part of it n’all though, I’ve swept it under the carpet like all of our fanbase has.

But the UAE govt are the main supplier of arms, funds and intelligence to the RSF who are committing genocide in Sudan.

The UAE also have torture prisons in Yemen, have control of the shipping lanes and ports in Yemen (220k Yemenis, including 90k children, have died of starvation and preventable disease due to UAE’s control on where and who food and medical aid is delivered to and who it isn’t) and fund groups to assisinste their Yemeni rivals.

And it’s the opposite of your daft last paragraph. Our fanbase are up in arms about what the ‘white British’ govt are doing in Israel and are silent on what the ‘brown skin middle eastern’ govt who have a DPM/VP with links to our club are doing in Sudan and Yemen.
Weird how the blame stops once it reaches a stick to beat us with. How about we trace it back to the UK gov selling the arms to the UAE. Sudan has been a mess for over 20 years far as I can tell, yet the blame is laid at City’s feet.
For me, sport and politics should be kept separate.

I keep reading owners and criminals?

Anyone care to mention some names and link some proof of their involvement?
