What's a snowflake? Or a nation of snowflakes?

I know we have a generation of lazy feckers who wouldn't lift a cup to help at home and bury their heads in phone watching eejits....but they seem no worse than the kids I grew up with in the 70s who had their own distractions and vices.
 
As @cleavers says, it’s nothing new but it allows the defence secretary and NATO to use it to re emphasise the message from yesterday with regards UK defence solidarity with NATO against the threat from Russia.

It is a game that has been played for decades and one in which all actors who participate recognise it for what it is. It's the shit that we don't see that should be of more concern rather than these routine flex exercises.

Absolutely. I remember in the early 80s when we deployed for CASD and having a decoy sub sail with us as the Russians were always there on the surface looking for us.

Then, whilst submerged, often having to go into silent mode because the bears in the air were present dropping sonar buoys.

Nah..... we've plenty of fighting age men desperate to get into the country. Maybe they should all do 5 years national service or, if they choose not to, maybe they don't really want to be here?

Sorry, I've worked for over 20 years alongside a young well trained and professional armed services, and they do some great work. Suggesting that all our youth are like that is plain wrong, they are also supported by dedicated civilians who provide great support. We also have thousands of cadets who joing to experience what the services might offer them.

Yes the country has it's fair share of so called "snowflakes", but I expect if the shit hit the fan, many of those would be happy to defend our country.
 
I dont think we need to worry about the "youth of today", from what im reading on here theres plenty of lads who will be happy to step up themselves
