Europe have had the better of it the past decade or so but I get the feeling an upset is on the cards here. Not convinced by the European team and a lot will rest on Mcilroy, Rose and Garcia as the rest are either rookies, old or pretty badly out of form. With no Woods the American's might just have a bit more team spirit about them this year. I wouldn't bet them at 15/8 but I won't be surprised if they win.

My bet for the tournament would be Rose to be leading European at 7's

I think your right about Woods. He always seems to bring unwanted attention to the US squad and there is always something not quite right with them when so much focus is on one player, especially when he has never really delivered in a ryder cup.

I think the US will win 15-13.

Can't wait for this...however..

Ferguson giving pep talks. Doesn't sit right with me at all.

Mclroy drooling like a big rag baby. I fucking hope taggart doesn't steal the limelight as ever.

I think the US team need to win big time. I will go for a draw and Europe holding onto the Ryder Cup. Seem to think that the US rookies are better than the European 1s. I think all 3 American Rookies will do very well in Walker , Speith and Reid. I think Gallagher is the best of the European rookies the other 2 blow hot and cold. I think the European team is good overall but having some out of form players within the team wil not help. I think Westwood and Poulter both were lucky to get in and the pressure will be on both to deliver. I think the US team will only get stronger and wont be far away from winning the Ryder Cup sooner rather than later. With the likes of Westwood and Bjorn coming to an end as Ryder Cup players in my opinion both will have big parts to play for a European win. I love the Ryder Cup and cant wait to watch as much as I can in the coming days.

The course shouldnt give Europe too much advantage but a bit of rain and a lot of wind would, the weather could be defining.

Not sure leaving Donald out to get Gallagher in (because he is Scottish) is a good move. Donald chips and putts brilliantly, which is very important in matchplay, and is proven Ryder cup quality. In 2004 a lot of people questioned Monty being in the team on his form and he delivered, i think Poulter (experience at being a pick and being top point scorer) and Westwood (another who was a pick in 2006 and delivered) will raise their game. Confidence and belief after last time will make Europe believe they can win from whatever situation, and could count for a lot. Rag Rory is without doubt the best player on the planet at the moment, although that doesnt count for much in foursomes and fourballs, as Woods is the proof of.

The USA will be stronger than the odds suggest IMO, they have a number of exciting players and a very good captain in Watson, however it might be a bit too soon for this team in terms of experience.

Will be close but i'd plump for a narrow European win, cant wait, bring it on.

gone for Lee Westwood (7-1/8-1ish) for Europe's top point scorer and Fowler (9-2) for the Yanks

Justin Rose & Henrik Stenson v Bubba Watson & Webb Simpson
Thomas Bjorn & Martin Kaymer v Rickie Fowler & Jimmy Walker
Stephen Gallacher & Ian Poulter v Jordan Spieth & Patrick Reed
Sergio Garcia & Rory McIlroy v Keegan Bradley & Phil Mickelson

Interesting pairings in the fourballs, think foursomes is far more tactical and the ability to gel far more important but i think Europe have the edge. Winning the top match will be tough but i'd make Europe the favs in the other 3, but as much as they like each other i'd have split up Sergio and Rag Rory as they are 2 of the best on the team. Going to be good...
