yes,went to see him at the Queens Hall with Roddie Frame on guitar .. superb if a little sad - I forgot just how ill he was.

You lucky bugger, that would have been great.

It's amazing that he's made the comback he has. There was an interview with him on Radio 5 just after the album came out, and you could hear that the old humour was still there, but he had trouble finishing his sentences, so his wife was helping him out. There's a nice little BBC Scotland documentary around as well, it was on Youtube last time I looked.
