I found a minicassette player...
So,...
In 1994, 30th April, we stood on The Kippax terrace for the last time, before its demolition. I took along a handheld memo recorder, and captured the crowd.
Today, I received an ancient Philips memo player, a minicassette, no less, and after some fettling, I have digitised the sound of football's greatest terrace...IMHO.
And here it is... embellished with some reverb, needed due to the age of the tape. This is a packed Kippax, prior to kick-off, the most complete crowd participation of our song I think I ever heard...the silences between lines of the song were real...we sang in unison. This is the actual sound of The Kippax in 1994. Edited in Audacity, it is what it is.
I own these files, please feel free to use them as you see fit. There is nothing else like this out there. In return, just have a look at my book...lol.
