The south stand

Honestly reading some of the relies in this thread its almost like people wanted there to be a poor atmosphere just so that they could come on here and say "I told you so". And yet they will be the ones who don't start any chants or join in, nor do anything else positive, to improve the atmosphere at all.

took the wife hoping to show her somethin special but it never quite worked out, it dint start well when we got in early and they wernt servin alcohol WTF???
then that early goal and some gobby twat behind us screamin how shit djeko, kompany, nasri, barry, kolorov and yaya was throughout the game

gotta say though, the last minute more than made up for it, she went fuckin mental!! she had to change her knickers when we got home.

i`d say overall 6 out of 10.

keep tryin it though, one day it will come together and it will be like being back at maine rd.

Quite simply, it failed.

Why is that? Because you couldn't shout at a fat bloke from an opposition team?
Get behind the team.

It was gash, the vast majority of the fans don't want it changing, just a small group of fans who seem to think they speak for the rest of us. Its taken 9 years for us all to eventually find place to sit where we enjoy the atmosphere the best we can (granted its not the loudest) and all of a sudden people want to change it. Its never gonna be Maine Rd, listening the the 'fans spokesman' on Radio 5 last night can tell you that. The only thing that will improve atmosphere is unreserved seating or standing.

Where do you sit then? And it's taken you 9 years to find it, fuck me are you a slug?

South stand lower at the back near the away fans. Moved twice since we have been at the new stadium, always been in East Stand Level 2 but gone behind the nets cos the prices for my seats went up. Yeah Im a slug, good one that....

No, because there aren't that many people interested and responding to away fans sadly gets those who are interested to sing more often for pride's sake I suppose. I did get behind the team, I did transfer into the South Stand for the night. Unfortunately you could count those trying to get the atmosphere going in 114 on one hand but even so I was one finger, so cheers.

-- Wed Oct 19, 2011 8:43 pm --

Ding ding, we have a winner.

Firstly, if someone has said something similar then I apologise for not reading the whole thread...

I feel the idea can work with more commitment to it but, in my opinion, the whole "fans urging the players on" theory works both ways and if the play is lacklustre then the crowd may well go quiet, thus diminishing the perceived atmosphere.

As someone said on Page 1, conceding in the first 5 minutes of such a big game will be a set back to both players and fans.

Exactly, just as long as next time they will have some Wolves fan to shout "have you ever seen your dick" or "who's the faggot in the pink" they will be happy.

Didn't work. Fair play to City for trying it but don't do it again please. We need the away fans nearby to make a decent atmosphere, simple as that.

Why do we need the away fans near us ?
How can we judge last night when they only came in a Taxi.
At least wait until there's a few thousand in the upper East and then
we can compare.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of the atmosphere the end looked good
and credit should be given to the lads that put the effort into it.

Atmosphere on the whole is crap when we don't have away fans nearby to get it going. I sit in 212, when the away team bring enough fans to fill the upper tier they atmosphere is a hell of a lot better than when the second tier is completely empty or filled with other city fans.

I agree the blue/white bluemoon thing looked awesome but that's now never going to happen again because of mongs throwing them onto the pitch.
