With Petrov, Benjani and Garrido likely to be the last to go we would be left with this:

GK Given / Taylor
LB Bridge / Sylvinho
CB Toure / Onuoha
CB Lescott / Kompany
RB Richards / Zabaleta
CM Barry / De Jong
CM Ireland / Johnson
RM Wright-Phillips / Bentley (?)
LM Robinho / Weiss
ST Tevez / Bellamy
CF Ade / RSC

On LOAN: Logan, McGivern, Etuhu, Bojinov, Caicedo, Jo

Looking good? If Bentley came would that be the final piece of the jigsaw or where do you think we might still need strengthening?

Jonno is still a bit young, think we need a more experienced man there

Im not bothered about the fact Johnson is young because he has had enough experience in the premiership, the thing im worried about is if he is ever going to get fit again. Personally id love him back in our team and pushing for a starting place but i just have a feeling that the lad will never play football again.

Although Bentley played right side at Blackburn he is more likely to be cover for Ireland in central midfield.

Bentley has played Irelands role quite a few times from what i can remember, he has got good awareness, good touch, good passing, excellent crossser and can shoot from long range which is what the team is lacking. Or am i wrong?

If Bentley is signed as backup for Ireland what does that say about Michael 'two weeks off' Johnson?

Would be nice to get a creative midfielder in, Johnson may never come back & if anything happens to Ireland we could struggle in that position.
