Quick question; is it me or is Vinny attempting to plant his foot in his natural stride to enable himself to shield the ball out of play?? Cahill's foot is merely in that space, right??

If agreed, then why are the 'pundits' trying to make it out to be more malicious than it was??

is it because they're biased twats?

Anybody who has played football knows what Vincent Kompany was trying to do- get his body between player and ball. Unfortunately his foot came down on Cahill's leg.

If you don't play football for 20 years however, you might not notice and thus be unable to analyse any modern day football very well at all. For example, Alan Hansen.

More of a landing on than a stamp. VK did not exert any additional force other than natural gravity and he did not move his leg to deliberately land on Cahill. It will be interesting to see if Moyes hysterical school girl bleating and the brainless comments made on MOTD result in the first retrospective action taken against a player that was seen to be fouled by the referee.

ignore all the biased idiots,Howard Webb got the decision spot on with a booking for Cahill,he come sliding in with 1 foot in the air and it could have been nasty for Vinny,he just jumped out out the tackle and landed on Cahills leg on the way down.I watched the game and coverage again this morning and Jamie Redknapp called it right after the game after gollom had been moaning about it
