The 'Stamp'...

It happended below where I sit and at the time i thought Cahill should have had a red - it was a scissors tackle designed to take Vinny's legs which it would have done hadnt Vinny inadvertently put his footdown on Cahills shin. serves the twat right.

Howard Webb won't change his mind - it would be a sign of weakness by the best referee in the league.

I doubt if it will be reviewed, unless Hanson heads the review panel. Cahill went in with both feet, so what do they expect to happen? Kompany levitates above the ground in order to avoid contact?

It's not a case of that. He saw the incident and gave Cahill a yellow. According to the rules, this means that no retrospective action can be taken.

Since when did the rules actually mean anything? I am not suggesting Vinnie will be done for this, but we have seen countless examples where the ref mysteriously says he didn't see something when plainly he did. The flick of a leg by SWP on Delap springs to mind, after Delap had just kicked Shauny 6 feet in the air. The video replays show the ref (can't remember which bent twat it was) staring at the incident he "didn't see" thereby landing Shaun a retrospective ban.

Vinny didn't 'stamp'. A stamp is a pre determined action where you know what you're doing. But I do think Vinny put his studs into Cahill as the situation happened, without it being pre determined. Cahill went in rashly, Vinny didn't stamp on him but he didn't not put his studs into him. Does that make sense? I think both should have been booked or sent off.

This doesn't mean I think it was a dirty action by Vinny. But it wasn't good.

It also has no baring on the numerous very poor tackles and elbows from Everton players over 90minutes.

I actually have no clue what you've just said!! Either the initial movement by Vinny to 'do' Cahill was intentional or is wasn't. In order to receive the red, Vin would have had to make an intentional move towards dangerous play. A yellow would have constituted in Vinny making the initial aggressive move.

He did neither.

Exactly!!

I just watched it over and over again on motd. They are full of shit. There is no movement towards that twat from Vinnie at all. Doesnt adjust or anything.

Absolute scam of a pundit.

Cahill was being a dirty **** and he was lucky to get away with a yellow card.

Im not one to wish injury on players but if Cahill is out with an injury he has no one to blame but himself.

I hated Moyes before and I hate him even more now. Has anything been mentioned about the organised GBH on Silva by half of his team?
