The stupidest rule in football??

What about the rule where obstruction is punishable by an indirect free-kick, but if you are guarding a ball over the touchline for a goalkick anything is legal?

Agreed. It's not even jocking the ball over the line, defenders can hold a player off for about 10 years. On the Scouse derby a Red-Scouse player was trying to hold off Gosling, but then fell over and the linesman gave a free out!!!

I hate time wasting substitutions during injury time. I'd ban these.

To stop players time wasting with 'fake' injuries, if they go down injured and play is stopped they shouldn't be allowed to return to pitch for 2 minutes. This would stop time wasters and if the injury is genuine the 2 minutes can be for treatment and recovery.

I think the stupid rule where a player gets injured and has to go off the pitch, but he may be the freekick taker or your best defender!

What is the point of this rule???

Don't know and can't think of anything sensible as to why this should be done, other than to cut out cheating little twats stopping the play for fictitious reasons, ie Torres last night feigning injury just to stop or slow an EFC attack. I think that if anyone is injured in a foul tackle the offender should also go off until the victim returns. If the victim doesn't return a ten or fifteen minute sin bin would be ideal.

You need to understand the rules before making stupid statements about them.

It's only a foul if are not within playing distance of the ball - if you are then you can guard it anywhere on the pitch (including the touchline).

i've always thought this a daft rule too. i reckon you should only be allowed to shield it if you've touched it first, to put it into your possesion.

I hate the complications around the offside rule , it was better when it was straigtforward, i dont trust our fucking officials enough to give them the opportunity to "interpret" a rule, when they already favour the bastard "sky four" as it is. Paranoid probably ..but you know I'm right < they fucking hate us and if they have more chance to interpret against us they will !!! Change the offside back to how it used to be . To paraphrase Brian Clough - " If he is not interfering with play why is he on the fucking pitch"
