I generally dont watch this show as it winds me up, but thought i'd give it a go today, it wasnt that bad, Lipton went off on one about Lampard, but i thought most of what they said was right, didnt really slag off the signing of Bony, even saying that we have until June to balance things up so cant say we are failing now. Agreed that our and Chelsea's model is better than the Glazer model for football, FFP is designed to prevent others from challenging the status quo. I'm sure other will disagree with me, but after Maureen's moaning i expected Barkley to be kissing his ring as usual and he was quite balanced about things. Full on agendaists will no doubt be donning their tin foil hats and will disagree with me.

Agree wasn't that bad.. I think the Lampard situation by City was to protect Lampard

Patrick Barclay thinks FUFP is a good thing & blames the free market for cementing the status quo. Under free market rules somebody can buy into a business & invest all the money he wants to make it grow bigger & stronger & be competitive. This bellend contradicts himself & doesn't realise he's doing it.
One day he will realise that ffp is actually destroying the game all its doing is keeping the biggest clubs at the top. It was brought in to stop city but they were to slow.
What it is doing is stopping the likes of villa and Everton from being sold because no one is going to invest if you can't get a return on their money.
The turkeys all voted for Christmas and now they have realised they have been stuffed

Lipton ranting and foaming at the mouth about City, the City Group, NYCFC, and the Lampard deal.(you should have his face)

Accused City of *lieing*, and was rebuked/warned by Neil Ashton.

It's interesting some of you chaps think that defamation of our club on national TV "isn't that bad"

here is the slander, City lawyers please note

Re: Sunday Supplement 14/15 Thread

I think those that say ignore these types of programs, it doesn't matter about the media, so what if there is a bias are missing a significant factor in City's rise

United Liverpool and their ilk state there success is down to their history they turn nuggets of coal into gold, they do things "the right way" now we all know that that is rubbish it was down to money in the 70's and 90's but there is the media narrative. We come along with our "oil money" of the 2000's and its all about money money money.

Why is this important in the long run does a £75m a year deal sound better than £12m a year. Think what we could do if we had that sort of income today!!!

Now people will gravitate towards City due to success but it would be a much easier sell if the media treated us fairer. Have no doubt we will get to that level eventually it might just make the journey that bit faster

And why do you only seem to have a pop at me about it, when De Niro said the same thing? Indeed, when you quoted me earlier, you edited out his comment. Why, if you're not simply having a pop at me? Serious question.

Because you make the same point every week.

Re: Sunday Supplement 14/15 Thread

Barclay talks about FFP and comments it is good for the game , then in the next sentence refer to Aston Villa's/Randy lerners difficulty at selling their club, is it any wonder ? FFP means any investment in premiership football club like villa, newcastle, everton etc will be less attractive , becuase it is now impossible for an owner to invest the neccessary funds to make a mid table team into a champs league competitor. FFP is the death of 95% football supporters hopes of playing at an elite level , and the retards on SS are oblivious to this.

That's just it though. Read this thread. A lot of people on here don't want to read/watch/listen when City are being criticized. So why do people moan like fuck when we are slagged off, yet till tune in to the same programme the following day/week/whenever? I think your point is that it's all about opinions, and I agree 100% with you. They're perfectly entitled to slag City off if they want (libel laws permitting), and I've never had a problem with that. Free speech, and all that. My argument, which you seem to miss/ignore is simply, why would anyone regularly watch/listen to a programme that they don't like? If I don't like a programme, whatever it's about (comedy, music, current affairs, sport, whatever), I simply don't watch it.

I ignore your argument because I don't agree with it. I want to know what people are saying and writing about my club. If I refuse to read or watch anything because I might not like it I won't know what is being said. But others will and will base their opinions of my club on that.

I don't actually watch SS but I like to read the threads in here so I know which journos talk shite about us, which accusations are being made about the club and which myths are likely to be repeated to me by other supporters.

Why do you consistently open sunday supplement threads when your only contribution seems to be to moan about why people are watching the show?
And why do you only seem to have a pop at me about it, when De Niro said the same thing? Indeed, when you quoted me earlier, you edited out his comment. Why, if you're not simply having a pop at me? Serious question.

you come across as a right mard arse there mate

Re: Sunday Supplement 14/15 Thread

I don't normally tune in but decided to watch it today. I know why I don't watch it. What a complete p***k that Martin Lipton is, I've already unfollowed him on twitter with his obsession on the Lampard fiasco and City allegedly cheating there way around FFP. You could see his hatred for us on that show. I mellowed a bit after seeing Jason Burt talk some sense. I know we are bound to be slightly biased, but I cant believe most journalists and pundits don't see how FFP is flawed and only there to protect the elite clubs. All I get from my mates at work when down south, who most support either Arsenal, United or Liverpool is how we have bought the league and cheating our way to success yet they have spent more than us in the last few seasons.. I try to just laugh it off and wind them up but deep down it irks me. In a way it probably brings the whole club together with the bitter hatred and jealousy towards us, Us against the world mentality.
