Dead wrong, I happen to know at least three posters on here who regularly talk to people who are high up in City, and another four or five who are journalists in respected newspapers.

EDIT: Oh, and more than a few who know players, but players tend to have less of a clue than we do.

I'm not saying you don't: but what does high up mean?

I only know of the positions that are talked about publicly. What do these other positions entail?
 
High up as in people who will have a bit more knowledge than the average fan. I suppose high up in the office of City rather than the corporation is apt for one of them. The other high up as in he knows all of the Man City board, I know this because he himself works for City. He has never publically 'outed' himself, but you'd be surprised what you can learn when you have access to the database of the forum. Quite honestly, I once did a search for posters who used the Man City IP address and came up with one interesting result that I followed up. You'd be surprised how many people post here from the City offices.
The other person just happens to have known somebody who know works for the club. That's just on this forum alone, that I know about. There will be many more who I don't know about.

I'm not saying believe everything you read, because that's dumb, but if people have a reputation for knowing what they are talking about, it is usually deserved.

Hmm if there is a way of tracking where the poster posts from it's worth looking into and then let the club know if it's from within so they can get rid.

They won't have a problem then but if they are not and are divulging info they shouldnt be it would be a pleasure to help get rid of them from within City. A decent person wouldnt spread stuff which would have a negative effect on the club , would they?

Agreed. But I'd bet that most of the posts coming from the clubs IP address are more along the lines of "what a great job the club is doing" rather than the "Barry is shit and needs to leave" variety.

Some of them were users who 'outed' themselves as City staff during the new website time. Another one though, was in a Cook thread and defending him from abuse though that was a little while back, before the Rosler stuff.
