I suspect there are differing opinions on this. The team huddle before kick off. Is it good for morale? Is it good for the fans to see the team are together? Is it good to show opponents that the team are not a splintered group as some would have us believe?

Or is it a lower league nonsense that fools no one and the likes of City don't need to pretend to like each other just to score some psychological point?

Should our lads get into a huddle before kick off?

Personally i don't hold with all that foreign nonsense lets have them do something meaningful to northwest england like the hokey cokey or the conga or even the slosh. I would happily pay money to see this..

Doesn't show a thing for me. Anything that needs saying can be said in the changing rooms and to be honest in training all week (Gary Neville said recently that Ferguson says very little before a game in the changing rooms, it's all said during the week and everyone already knows their job).

A 15 second huddle really does fuck all for motivation. All the motivation needed is getting out of your car looking up at the stadium, putting the kit in and walking out on that stio of grass. If anyone needs any extra gee'ing up that can be done in the changing rooms, as I say 15 seconds in a huddle is going to do nowt extra or new!
 
Shows me more when joe hart comes out and shakes everys ones hand just before kick off.
 
Very noticible recently that when defending theres high fives all round after every tackle, block and clearance. Another example of our shocking lack of team spirit and togerthness.
 
Theres a good reason for it, they all wouldnt understand the language that would be spoken....

Was just about to put that. I like the way Joe goes to every player on our team and either shakes their hand or high fives.

I think our team spirit and togetherness is building extremely well. Toward the end of last season it was good to see.

Onward and upward with the greatest team in the land in all the world.
 
I think it shows a lot about us (in a good way) that we don't. I remember being sat watching the cup final last year, looking down at the two teams different approachs before kick off.

Where Stoke went into the big huddle it seemed as though they needed the huddle to fire each other up and discuss last minute tactics. Like they doubted ther ability to win.

Whereas our boys were all set in their positions seemingly very confident and focused about what they were going to do. It was like all that was needed to be said was said in the dressing room, and now it was time for them to see the job out.
 
Huddle is purely for show. You need to say your stuff in the changing room and then go out and get stuck in. A quick high five, shake of the hand, pat on the arse a la Joe Hart is enough.

What we should do is have our own ´Haka`a la the All blacks for every game. Imagine NDJ leading the charge with Zaba and Vinny!
 
Huddles are good. In personal experience its just a chance for the captain to say something aggressive and motivational.
 
makes teams look like a pub side like the scottish teams celtic etc

the team has all week to build team spirit and work on tactics so a 30 second Mickey Mouse show of unity is embarrassing
