Clearly, in the last 5 years or so, use of this term has been popularised in certain parts of the media as referring to someone who employs 'the dark arts' or is some sort or master manipulator of referees.

E.g. "Simeone is the king of the shithouses."

But we all know that for decades the only people in football being referred to as shithouses were those that ducked out of tackles or didn't fancy a bit of the physical stuff against a big defender.

As in "Samaras, you fucking shithouse!"

Simeone is about as far removed from a true shithouse as you can get. A true shithouse would be, well, shitting it faced with the prospect of coming up against Simeone and his ilk on the pitch..

Are you with me or against me?

With you. A shithouse is a coward.
Any other usage of the word is done by cocks that start sentences with, "I mean".

I thought the term more frequently used is "shithousery" not shit house.

Yes, maybe. But it's all derived from shithouse.

I'm proposing thst the finest example of shithousery you can see is someone like Nani deciding he wants none of Danny Tiatto in a 50/50 tackle and giving it the old 'after you, Claude'.

Unless it's a "brick shithouse", then he's a big bugger.

The cabbage patch kid's challenge on Akanji in the Cup final was pure Shithouse

Its an open term for example fernandes and havertz are shithouses because they are crying, whining, cheats who give it the biggun while hiding behind the ref, however haaland also induges in shithousery when he takes it into the corner and shields it, he is also built like a brick shithouse.

Its a great word that an mean anything depending on context and tone
